Treaty Road is a new 6 part docu-drama that follows the journey of filmmaker Saxon de Cocq and researcher Erin Goodpipe, two friends on a mission to travel in the steps of their Indigenous ancestors along the old roads of Canada to uncover the truth of the treaties that were signed, and the promises made and broken in these pivotal parts of history. In each episode, Saxon and Erin will explore the circumstances surrounding the signings used to propagate the colonial agenda, and how that agenda is still active today. Through the series, they will meet with the descendants of the Chiefs, elders and people who have lineage connected to someone present at the signing of the numbered treaties, collecting key piece of knowledge that will bring them closer to their goal of uncovering the truth.

Season 2 (9×30) features Matricia Bauer who takes viewers on a Wapakwanis plant walk to find what has served as Indigenous food and medicine for generations. She then showcases her culinary and botanical skills and whips up a tasty dish, drink, medicine or cosmetic with the locally-found flora.

In each episode we meet an Indigenous singer/songwriter as they explore the creation of a new song based on a personal source of inspiration. Kris Narghang is an archeologist who is reclaiming his Indigenous identity. Sarain Fox is an Indigenous activist and artist. Together they explore their own identity biases and beliefs while they journey into communities to meet innovators who are harnessing Indigenous Knowledge as a way to create a stronger, brighter future.

For generations across North America, Indigenous Peoples have been reeling from the devastating effects of colonialism that left families, languages and cultures destroyed. But today, a powerful movement of revitalization is taking place, with Indigenous Peoples reclaiming their traditions in order to rebuild their communities.
